Versioning
Date: August 27, 2013

Grasshopper is incredibly flexible and allows us to interactively play with alternatives. I think, the important reason for using Grasshopper is that it effectively supports the design process by the option of different solution and unique configuration. During the lab, we were focusing on create different versions of size’s houses using script. For doing this, we started with Brep (Boundary Representation). The geometry in Rhino is a preview of the result of the interrelations of the components and parameters made in the Grasshopper interface. When the BRep is baked in Grasshopper the BRep will be converted from a preview to Rhino geometry.

And different types of variation and combination of room types was randomized by the jitter component. The jitter component randomly shuffles a list of values. The input list is reordered based on random noise. Jittering is a good way to get a random set with a good distribution. If the parameter is set, then each value can relocate to any new position. Within the list, no new value has been created, instead the existing values are just move around.
